Applications
Featuring high mechanical strength, relatively-stable refractive index, the BaF2 Crystal is an ideal window material for CO2 lasers. It also finds applications in other optical components, like optical lenses and prisms in UV-IR, as well as optical substrate materials, etc.
In addition, the BaF2 Crystal is also commonly used as scintillator for gamma detection. It is the fastest scintillating crystal up to now.
BaF2 Crystals can be used in a wide range of environments. For instance, they can be used at a high temperature of 500℃ in normal environment, and even at 800℃ in vacuum drying environment.
